Lithological-facial and paleo-geographical peculiarities of the Upper Jurassic–Lower Cretaceous deposits of the Central Caspian water area

Annotation:
As a result of sedimentological study of the Kimeridge-Berriasian interval rocks, characterized by core from wells, drilled in the Caspian Sea area in the Prikumskaya-Central-Caspian system of depressions and uplifts, lithotypification was carried out. Microfacial types were also identified and facies were determined based on this data. It was established that this area during the late Jurassic and Early Cretaceous periods represented a homoclinal ramp with mixed carbonate-terrigenous sedimentation. Several sedimentary cycles are traced in the studied core from the Kimeridge-Berriasian interval, reflecting a similar sequence of facies from the outer ramp to the inner ramp with a supratidal facial zone.
