Annotation:
A methodology (sequence) for research natural reservoirs and traps, formed by seals and sedimentary anticlines with abnormally high values of calculated parameters (porosity, permeability and effective reservoir thicknesses) is proposed. It is shown that the tasks of defining continuous-area seals in overlapping structures over sedimentary anticlines can be solved on the basis of special techniques for interpreting neutron, gamma and induction logging data (the innovative NEGAEL technique). The proposed methodology provides for the joint defining and prediction, but first of all seals, and under them, secondly, hydrocarbons saturated new sandy lenses – sedimentary anticlines.
The Tanopchinskiy formation in the north of the West Siberian province is considered as an example of studying terrigenous formations with sandy lenses.
Reefs in the carbonate sedimentary formations of the Timan-Pechora province also have a similar structure.
The methodology is focused on reducing the risks of drilling production, appraisal and exploration wells.
