Annotation:

The Caspian basin is characterized by a complex geological structure and a rich oil and gas potential. The great prospects for the oil and gas potential of the subsurface of the Caspian Depression are confirmed by the discovery of a number of large oil and gas fields within its limits. However, these discoveries have far from exhausted the hydrocarbon potential of the subsurface, in which the share of undiscovered reserves exceeds 75 %. The extremely complex geological structure of the Caspian Basin allows for a variety of geological models, which makes it difficult to develop strategic decisions on planning further exploration. There is a need to analyze and summarize information on the currently discovered hydrocarbon deposits of the Caspian Basin.
