Annotation:

Geochemical studies play an important role in predicting liquid and gaseous hydrocarbons. The object of study is the oil and gas source rocks (OGSR), which are a part of the oil and gas complexes. In addition to OGSR, oil and gas complexes include elements such as reservoir rock and cap rock. Currently, there are many methods and techniques for quantifying the generation of oil and gas, which are based on fundamentally different methodological approaches to solving the issues of determining the oil and gas source potential of rocks. One of the most effective methods is the pyrolytic Rock-Eval device, which allowed studying the organic matter of Paleozoic deposits of the eastern border of the Caspian depression.
