The scale of hydrocarbon accumulations in the oil- and gas-bearing sediments of the Western Siberia and the causes of its variability

Annotation:
The results of a study examining the specific features of the scale of oil and gas accumulations in the Mesozoic sediments of the northern regions of the West Siberian oil and gas basin are considered: from the Lower-Middle Jurassic, Upper Jurassic, Berriasian-Lower Valanginian (Achimov strata) oil and gas complexes to the upper productive (Aptian-Cenomanian) mega-complex. The data on the hydrocarbons geological reserves of all complexes under consideration have been summarized and systematized, linking gigantic, unique and large deposits in terms of geological reserves to lithological-facies, catagenetic, tectonic and geodynamic features of the processes of oil and gas generation and accumulation of oil and gas in the area under study. It is shown that each sediment complex is independent, capable of generating large quantities of hydrocarbon accumulations in mega-reservoirs.
