The experience of using microimages for sedimentological analysis of carbonate sections (Upper-Devonian-Carboniferous deposits of Bashkortostan)

Annotation:
The authors of the article demonstrates examples of sedimentological study of wells carbonate sections using the data from electrical microimagers, which allow for texture analysis, determination of the shape and size of inclusions, recording of breaks in sedimentation, etc. Sedimentological interpretation of images in combination with other methods was carried out by joint efforts of a lithological and a petrophysical specialists. In breccias and clastic limestones, the size, sorting, roundness of fragments, mineralogical composition and percentage ratio of fragments and filler, etc. are determined. For layered rocks, the types and scales of layering, deformation interlayers of clastic rocks and bioturbation intervals are determined. Examples of combining the results of sludge research and image analysis are shown. A variant of graphical display of the results of microimagers sedimentological interpretation is proposed.
