Lithological and geochemical criteria and prospects for oil and gas potential of Ordovician-Silurian deposits in the northern part of the Tunguska Syneclise

Annotation:
The studies are devoted to the petrographic composition, reservoir and oil-and-gas source properties of Ordovician-Silurian deposits of the largest, but poorly studied supra-order structure of the Siberian Platform – the Tunguska Synclise. The relevance of the study is caused by the need to assess the oil-and-gas potential of the Tunguska Basin and to increase the resource base in East Siberia based on the identification at the present-day methodological level of prerequisites for oil and gas exploration, contributing to a scientifically substantiated prediction of oil-and-gas occurrence in this region. The degree of formation of reservoir rocks and fluid seals, the occurrence and ontogenetic state of hydrocarbon-generating substance were determined and classified according to their quality. A structural plan and a catagenesis map were compiled, the Ordovician-Silurian deposits of the syneclise area were differentiated according to categories of oil-and-gas potential.
