Annotation:
The paper considers the use of a previously published petrophysical model of the neutron slowing down length in rocks to construct an interpretative model of neutron methods. The results of modeling this characteristic for granular water and gas saturated reservoirs are presented, and an interpretative model of neutron methods based on it is shown.
Of practical interest is the possibility of using neutron characteristics that most fully reflect the geochemical composition and capacitive properties of sediments. The slowing down length is such a characteristic that actualizes its use in the individual and complex interpretation of the results of geophysical well surveys.
It is shown that modeling of the physical properties of a rock becomes possible under the condition of using petrophysical models of the interrelationships of the bulk contents of the clastic and cementing parts, their water-retaining abilities and effective porosity. The conducted research of the petrophysical model of the neutron slowing down length is a development of one of the traditional areas of scientific activity of the Department of Geophysical Informational Systems – nuclear Petrophysics – the basis for interpreting radiometry data of oil and gas wells.
