Annotation:

This paper presents the results of lithologic delineation of the section based on the geophysical well logs of the D1 zone of the Kurrachine Dolomite Formation of Middle Triassic age in the Jihar field (Central Syrian Palmyrides). The analysis was performed using crossplots (comparisons) of bulk density with photoelectric absorption index, bulk photoelectric absorption index and neutron porosity. A volumetric lithologic model (determination of the mineral composition of the studied rock) was also constructed using the solution of the system of petrophysical equations. The results of the analysis made it possible to identify intervals in the section with enhanced reservoir properties confined to dolomites. Taking into account that the Kurrachine Dolomite Formation is an oil-bearing source formation, further studies should be focused on differentiated estimation of the nature of saturation of the selected dolomite interbeds.
