The article discusses the experience of designing a field in the Middle East in terms of justifying the development system for the facies zones identified according to geological criteria (Reef, Rear Trail and Lagoon), which are characterized by significantly different reservoir properties, but are a single development object in the conditions of a lithologically isolated water-drive reservoir. The field has a low elastic reserve. The Reef Zone is represented by the best reservoir properties with a gradual deterioration of properties towards lagoon deposits. In the course of the work performed, all available geological and field data were summarized, approaches to introducing the analysis results into geological and technological models were found or improved. The results of the work were accepted for further design of the field development system and the assessment of economic indicators.
