Annotation:

Separation phenomena in the production and the tubing strings of oil producing wells play a crucial role for the efficient operation of a downhole pump. The article considers the possible causes of the imbalance in the reservoir-well-pump system. Two methods are proposed for estimating the content of free gas at the pump intake based on the readings of pressure and temperature sensors in the pump area. The application of the material balance method in molar terms of the reservoir oil components makes it possible to estimate the volume of released gas in a constant time mode in accordance with the prevailing thermal-baric conditions in the pump zone.

Approbation of technologies on wells will allow, according to the authors of the article, to formalize one of the segments of the smart well program control, capable of not only assessing the state of the well-reservoir system, but also taking the necessary measures to adjust the operating mode of the downhole pump.
