Analysis of horizontal wells productivity in the Upper Jurassic deposits of the Western Siberia depending on the paleorelief

Annotation:

Prediction of zones with different productivity of sediments is one of the main tasks of geology, required for efficient wells placement and field development planning. The article analyzes the history of production wells drilled in the Upper Jurassic sediments. A comparison was made of the starting flow rates, cumulative oil production for the first 90 days of operation and for the entire period of horizontal wells development in case of their location on a paleo-structural basis and with respect to the direction of maximum regional stress. Comparative analysis confirmed the geological concept of the existence of a correlation between the structural factor and wells productivity as well as made it possible to identify the effect of the azimuth of drilled horizontal wells on their starting flow rates.
