Development of high-viscosity oil deposits by steam flooding into a horizontal well with preliminary cyclic steam stimulation

Annotation:

The article considers a method of increasing the efficiency of the development of a high-viscosity oil deposit by conducting Cyclic Steam Stimulation (CSS) of horizontal producing wells and the subsequent implementation of steam flooding into horizontals well. To analyze the effectiveness of the proposed method, calculations were performed on a hydrodynamic model built in CMG software and history matched both before and after the cyclic steam stimulations. The simulations analyzed the influence of the choice of a well for steam flooding. The indicators of the effectiveness of steam flooding with preliminary CSS are given. Synergetic effect of steam flooding and CSS allows to increase sweep efficiency and displacement efficiency, which leads to an increase of oil recovery factor.
