Annotation:
The important place in the development of material-technical base of the Russian Federation is occupied by natural resources located in the northern and north-eastern part of the country, where its main natural wealth is concentrated. One of the most important problems of these territories development is machinery operation at very low ambient temperatures, especially cold start of motors. The most effective technique of ensuring a motor start and operation under these conditions is the use of engine oils with improved low temperature properties. The article presents the results of researches carried out to improve low-temperature properties of motor oils by determining the optimal content of poor point depressant and detergent additives in motor oils. The content of depressant and detergent additives in the motor oil was considered optimal when the pour point as well as filterability and turbidity (formation of wax crystals) of motor oils was minimal.
