Annotation:

Geological steering as a process of controlling the wellbore trajectory with simultaneous exploration and influence on the trajectory during the drilling process is fundamentally changing the traditional views on fields’ development. The results of azimuthal studies and quantitative interpretation of the reservoir properties of the section being opened form an idea of the behavior of the structure and the object geological structure. The adopted operational decisions have a certain proportion of erroneous adjustments; on the basis of this, the effectiveness of decision-making on adjusting the well drilling during geological steering was assessed. Wells corrections classification allows designing and managing drilling uncertainties, while the analysis and development of erroneous corrections at the planning stage allows optimizing the well trajectory and managing possible risks during the drilling process. An approach has been formed to assess the change of the volume of mobile oil reserves involved in the development based on the analysis of operational adjustments to the position of the wellbores. The use of geological-hydrodynamic modeling makes it possible to comprehensively analyze changes of the approach to the reserves recovery and evaluate the effectiveness of drilling support as a way to develop fields with maximum economic effect.
