Annotation:

The article indicates the expediency of filling the regulatory gaps in certain areas and directions where standards are either absent or their range is unreasonably limited. The expediency of issuing domestic standards to ensure technical regulation on the territory of Russia and friendly neighboring states was confirmed. The article substantiates the rejection of pure copying of foreign standards in order to prevent distortion of the traditions of domestic technical culture. It is shown that the increase in the proportion of voluntary standards and a corresponding decrease in the proportion of mandatory standards require strengthening the control of the benefits planned at the expense of refusal, or at least paying special attention to the control procedure.

Brief statistics of practical consideration of drafts of a number of standards within the framework of their development and updating with distribution by organizations of the oil and gas complex and by types of comments are presented.
