At present, a significant part of the highly productive, confident reserves of the Western Siberian fields has already been involved in development or depleted. At the same time, a significant amount of the remaining reserves is concentrated in reservoirs, the drainage of which is complicated by degraded geological characteristics. Such objects include AB group reservoirs, despite the high depletion and water cut of highly productive reserves in general, the volume of current reserves is comparable to less drilled reservoirs of the Achimov and Jurassic deposits. The resource potential presence in the developed areas can become one of the points of the existing fields’ production growth due to effective drilling.

AV13 reservoir is formed in shallow-marine conditions of transgressive sedimentation and is characterized by deteriorated reservoir (permeability and porosity) properties relative to AV2 reservoir (up to 10 times by permeability) of continental origin, which is characterized by channel and floodplain sediments. This circumstance is the reason for the reserves increased density in the intervals of AV13 reservoir combined into a single development target with AV2 reservoir.

Some specific features of the geological structure and historical technological solutions for its development predetermined the following problems:

– low wells production flow-rates, high rates of production decline when developing the reservoir by single wells due to low reservoir permeability relative to underlying reservoir AV2 (average 28 versus 215 mD);

– various types presence of the section, which require individual solutions during development;

– the significant share of historical commingled wells determines the necessity of detailing AV13 reservoir development in areas of commingled operation with AV2 reservoir. Positive factors are a high degree of geological exploration, not a large depth of occurrence, the presence of undeveloped reserves, confirmed by the ongoing work and the formed infrastructure.
