Determination and prediction of the overburden stress constituent for fields of the Timan-Pechora oil- and gas-bearing province

Annotation:

The presence of a pronounced overburden stress constituent is revealed in the oilfields of the Timan-Pechora oil- and gas-bearing province, its share of the minimum horizontal overburden stress constituent can reach up to 77,6 % and on average is 47,5 %. Therefore, geomechanical problems solution requires reliable determination and prediction of this parameter. The author of the article, based on the developed approach to rocks geomechanical parameters determination, calculated the overburden stress constituent for 119 wells of 42 geological objects of the Timan-Pechora oil- and gas-bearing province, which were subjected to hydraulic fracturing and the acoustic wave fields were measured in the framework of wells geophysical studies. The article provides an example of calculation and the results of overburden stress constituent determination. A multiple regression analysis of the resulting data set was performed and dependence was determined for further prediction of the tectonic component of rock pressure with account for the underlying depth and attribution to the tectonic classification.
