Calculation of longitudinal deformations during hydraulic fracturing by Well Force ZERS 2.2 program

Annotation:

During a formation hydraulic fracturing, pipes are subjected to heavy loads, resulting in negative consequences occurrence in the form of exhaustion of pipe strength reserves, the ascent of a pipe column at the surface or the exit of the lower end of pipes with a seal (stinger) from the pipe in which it is sealed. Any of these possible scenarios of the events occurrence is unacceptable thus requiring preliminary reserves estimation up to its realization. The reserves estimation at the surface prior a pipe string emersion during hydraulic fracturing is quite simple, in contrast to the magnitude of the stinger upward movement estimation, where it is necessary to take into account not only hydraulic losses, but also the difference of hydrostatic pressures in the inner and outer space of tubes, the initial stress state of the pipes, and the different direction of friction forces in different areas. The article offers simple calculation formulas for performing simplified conservative estimates as well as discusses the main features of the method for calculating longitudinal deformations of pipes implemented in the Well Force ZERS 2.2 program. Comparison of simplified estimates with a more accurate calculation under the Well Force ZERS 2.2 program is performed for various hydraulic fracturing scenarios.
