The task of increasing the efficiency of technologies for preventing and effective removing asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits is complex and systemic since it has a significant impact on energy efficiency, resource conservation, and environmental safety of oil and gas production.
One of the most common methods of combating asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits is the use of chemical reagents. Currently, many different compositions preventing and removing asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits of chemical reagents have been developed and studied. The most effective solvents are compositions consisting of aliphatic, naphthenic and aromatic hydrocarbons in combination with polar heteroatomic compounds and surface-active substances. However, the composition and properties of asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits in a well can vary significantly depending on the depth and zone of formation. Due to the heterogeneity of deposits, the traditional practice of developing and testing chemical reagents on single samples of asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits is insufficient.
The authors of the article present the results of the analysis of the structural-group composition of asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits using the infra-red (IR) spectroscopy method. It is proved that efficiency increase of combating asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits requires comprehensive studies aimed at studying the heterogeneity of deposits composition taken from different zones of wells of one and the same field. It is also required to assess the influence of wells operation geological-technical parameters on the composition and properties of asphaltene-resin-paraffin deposits.
