Assessment of the feasibility of water injection into shallow low-permeable oil deposits in the Western Siberia

Annotation:

Justification of the optimal development system for a shallow low-permeable deposit is a difficult task. Its solution requires multivariate calculations on a three-dimensional model.
Successful development of a shallow deposit in a natural mode requires high reservoir conductivity, presence of active bottom waters or a contour area. Well design has a significant impact on production indicators.
Several development options were studied in specific geological conditions (a shallow single-layer low-permeable field). The economics of the development option in a natural mode turned out to be preferable to the option with water-flooding.
However, if there are two or three adjacent similar formations at the field, by transferring part of the costs of drilling injection wells to them, the economic indicators of the development of the target deposit using reservoir pressure maintenance can be significantly improved. Under these conditions, the development of a shallow target deposit by independent horizontal and joint vertical injection wells is more advantageous than that by the natural mode.
