Annotation:
The paper examines the history of relations between Russia and the OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries) cartel. Today, the nature of relations between Russia and the Organization plays one of the key roles in ensuring the world energy security. Although the Russian Federation is not a member of the OPEC, it is an observer in the Organization, as well as a party to the OPEC + and OPEC ++ Agreements. Our country not only possesses one of the largest oil reserves in the world, but it is one of the leading suppliers of hydrocarbons to the world market, which predetermines the need for active cooperation between Russia and the OPEC cartel.
