Annotation:
Oil production and processing are one of the most important branches of the industrial production in the Volgograd Region today. This fact determines the high relevance of the present research topic. The article considers the three-year dynamics of the main indicators of the oil complex functioning in the region, which served the basis for making conclusions about the necessity of developing manufacturing industries and a gradual departure from the model of crude oil sales, caused by the depletion of raw material reserves in the regional fields as well as by the non-stable demand for oil at the internal market. The methodology of the work includes structural and statistical analysis, as well as the synthesis of the results obtained.
