Annotation:

The author of the article analyzes the issues of ensuring the development of low-carbon energy in the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is shown that the Republic has a sufficient volume of its own hydrocarbon resources to meet internal needs. The author determined that the successful development of the energy sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan requires development of renewable and nuclear energy sources along with traditional energy ones. At the same time, the author notes that there is no need to force the energy transition. The author emphasizes the expediency of the simultaneous accelerated development of both renewable energy sources and the gas industry. Summing up, the author concludes that the achievement of a low-carbon economy in Uzbekistan will not only create new working places, but also develop gas processing to generate large volumes of profit by creating products with high added value.
