Economic assessment of the petrochemical industry of Russia

Annotation:

The article presents an assessment of the state and importance of the petrochemical industry for the economic development of the country at the present time. The authors of the article provide comparative foreign experience of the state participation in the development of the petrochemical market, including in the form of investment, and provide foreign experience of the cluster approach with relevant examples of petrochemical clusters. The role and necessity of the industry development in the framework of the decarbonization of the economy is characterized. Based on the analysis of the most important conceptual strategic documents, the study outlines the problems of the petrochemical market today and the main ways to solve them in a future carbon-neutral economy.
