Annotation:

The article considers some aspects of ensuring a low-carbon transition in Russian oil and gas companies to maintain their international competitiveness and strengthen their social-economic role. The trends of the low-carbon transition impact on the oil and gas business are described. The system-forming problems in the subject area are highlighted, including insufficient operational and energy efficiency of most oil and gas companies in Russia, as well as an unbalanced product portfolio with a low share of "green" energy carriers. As a result of the analysis, priority solutions are proposed for solving the systematized problems, which allow combining the energy transition with the sustainable development agenda and implementing long-term development agenda, relying primarily on the existing opportunities.
