Annotation:

The article analyzes the global climate initiatives, as well as the nature of their impact on the energy industry in order to further develop effective instruments for positioning energy companies on the climate agenda. The climate initiatives and their actors are defined as well as the nature and degree of climate initiatives impact on the energy sector is identified. The analysis made it possible to systematize and define the hierarchy of climate initiatives, highlighting global, institutional and corporate initiatives. The authors of the article focused on the consideration of global climate initiatives and their role in the development of the energy sector in the context of a low-carbon trend. The analysis was based on publicly presented strategies, activities, published studies, reports, policy papers, reviews, press releases and other public materials. The basis of companies’ data analysis is media materials, news feeds, press releases of activities, media publications and experts’ public statements on adapting the energy sector to the low-carbon trend.
