Review of the standards in the field of project management: advantages and disadvantages of their application in the practice of oil and gas companies

Annotation:

Project-oriented organizations in the oil and gas industry are facing the problem of choosing a specific standard out of the variety of regulatory documents used depending on the scale of projects, their complexity and timing, the level of project participants, the activity trends, etc. Despite the fact that the methodology of standards differs, many aspects are of a similar nature. Moreover, the practical application and implementation of project management is considered in the standards from different positions, thus causing certain advantages and disadvantages. The implementation of a certain project management standard should correspond to the strategy, corporate culture, needs and purpose of the organization. Thus, there is no possibility of an unambiguous choice of a certain standard for the effective operation of project-oriented organizations.
