Annotation:

The article presents a methodology that provides forecasting future energy systems as well as approximate scenarios of the world energy system development, taking into account current trends in the world energy development. The following six scenarios of the global energy systems development are identified: the clean energy revolution, decentralized energy systems, transport electrification, hydrogen economy, energy efficiency and demand response, bioenergy and the circular economy. The article also considers the prospects for the fuel and energy complex of the Russian Federation in the light of modern energy trends.
