The era of alliances in the development of modern international economic relations: causes and features

Annotation:

The article considers the development of the global economy and the system of international relations. The hypothesis of the work is the idea of a change of eras in international relations, caused by the development of alliance strategies. The author of the article proposes an approach in accordance with which the changes of international relations shaping are associated with geo-economic changes. Geo-economic changes caused by a combination of market forces and the implementation of the achievements of Industry 4.0, streamline the economic processes, participation in which in conditions of increasing mercantilism requires players to be highly flexible. In such context, previous bloc structures, for example, the EU, remain outsiders, and the world majority, moving away from the unipolar model, concentrates around new institutions, such as BRICS. Participation in BRICS, which represents a platform for the international dialogue in a new form, gives the players the opportunity for their development with the minimal cost of participation, thus leading to explosive interest in the organization. At the same time the success of BRICS against the backdrop of the destruction of unipolar thinking in international relations indicates the beginning of a new era, the era strategic alliances.
