Methodological aspects of the cost calculating for exclusive rights on intellectual property in the oil and gas industry

Annotation:

The article is devoted to the study of methodological aspects of the cost calculating for exclusive rights to objects of intellectual property (OIP). Existing approaches to assessing the value of the rights of intangible assets were analyzed. It was done a choice of approach to the assessment, and an opportunity was presented to adapt one of the income approach methods, the method of allocating the licensor's share in the licensee's profit, in relation to the conditions of the oil and gas industry. Calculation of the cost for exclusive rights was done for the example of OIP: patent for the invention of the Russian Federation No. 2614994 “Composition for acid treatment of the bottomhole zone for terrigenous reservoir”. The characteristics of the OIP under consideration with respect to the achieved result, the complexity of the solved technical and technological problem, as well as the novelty of the technical and technological solution were determined in connection with suggested estimation scales. It is noted that in each case, when calculating the cost of exclusive rights to scientific and technical products, it is necessary to adjust the calculation methodology, taking in consider the specific features of the object.
