Russian oil industry development in conditions of global energy market transformation

Annotation:
The article analyzes the causes and patterns of globalization processes transformation in the world energy industry after 2014, occurring in the main markets, in particular: the global petroleum market, as well as the capital market serving the global oil and gas complex, and the market for corporate control. The presented analysis shows that the globalization process in the oil industry has gone in an extremely contradictory and unfavorable way for the Russian oil and gas complex. The contradicting policy to this nature of globalization by resource-excessive countries, Russia as well, include the following principal directions: deepening of economic cooperation at the international and regional levels, which gave a new powerful impulse to the processes of regionalization of the world oil and gas complex, as well as at the industrial sectors and corporate levels. The response to the "so called West" as per the new trends in the global oil and gas industry are revealed in the form of sectorial sanctions imposed on the Russian Federation and other countries. The article also proposes strategic and operational measures for the Russian oil industry to increase its competitive advantages in the context of ongoing processes of contemporary world energy market transformation.
