Annotation:

The article focuses on activating the digital technologies renewal in the energy sector of the European Union. The corresponding paragraph is contained in the EU plan for the digital technologies introduction in the energy sector of 2022, which can be found in the section "Administrative prerequisites", where the full text of the paragraph is given in Russian translation. The main technologies described in the text are the following ones: meta-universe, Big Data, Machine Learning, digital twins, 3D scanning as well as market trading algorithms. As a sphere of these technologies application, the midstream sphere was taken as one of the most important and multifaceted areas of the EU energy sector. The application of the technologies described above to specific areas of the European mid-streaming companies activity was analyzed on specific examples. Such areas are the following ones: processing, transportation, storage and exchange trade of energy resources. The possible risks associated with the digital transition were also taken into account, the main of which is the crisis of components.
