Annotation:
The article is dedicated to the Oil and Gas Law recently adopted in the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, which comes into force on July 1, 2023. The previous revision of the Law dated 2008 is long time not up-to-date. The changes in the state regulation of this area have long been pressing, and the attempt of the Government to bring clarity by adopting the regulation "Determining a number of articles of the Oil and Gas Law in detail" № 95 dated 16.10.2015 has become a significant but yet not sufficient step in this direction. The author of the article brought the new aspects of the business of the contractors for the reader’s attention that are covered by state regulation for the first time, the changes in the approaches to regulation of the contractors separate types of activities and the emerging trends for further development of the industry.
