The problems of improving the transport environment when exporting Russian oil and oil products

Annotation:

At present, due to the sanction restrictions of the unfriendly countries against the Russian oil and gas complex, the geography of the export of Russian oil and oil products has changed significantly, which not only increased the transportation leverage to new markets – Asia-Pacific countries, but also increased the price discount on Russian grades of oil to the North Sea Dated blend. A characteristic feature of the current export of these products is the fact that 2/3 of the price discount is occupied by freight and insurance of tankers carrying them. The article considers the specifics of sea export of Russian oil and oil products, the structure of tanker fleet participating in its transportation, types of insurance in sea export of those products. In addition, the authors of the article propose and consider measures to reduce transport costs for the specified type of export by working towards the creation of the own system of insurance of maritime risks as well as own tanker fleet, including those ones that will help reducing the dependence on companies from unfriendly countries.
