Annotation:
Russia, which maintains stable oil and gas production, especially for export to countries in the Asia-Pacific region, has enormous potential for further development of its oil and gas complex, particularly in promising regions of the Far East and the Arctic, such as the promising Lena-Vilyui oil and gas province. The development of the oil and gas sector in remote regions requires energy infrastructure, where small-scale nuclear power is of key importance. The authors of the article provide a comprehensive analysis of the feasibility and economic efficiency of using floating nuclear thermal power plants (TPP) to supply energy to promising oil and gas fields in the promising Leno-Vilyui oil and gas province, which is characterized by a lack of developed energy infrastructure and extreme climatic conditions. The relevance of the study is caused by the strategic necessity of developing the resource potential of the Arctic and Far Eastern regions of Russia, which requires creating reliable and autonomous sources of energy supply. Using the example of the existing "Academician Lomonosov" floating nuclear thermal power plant, economic-mathematical modeling of a project of using floating nuclear thermal power plants to supply energy to oil and gas facilities was carried out. As part of the modeling, key project parameters were determined, such as the specific cost of installed capacity, the electricity tariff and the discount rate. The results of the calculations show that the project retains its investment attractiveness and positive net present value even under the initial assumptions, primarily due to the significant costs of diesel generation. The conclusion is that small nuclear power is not only a cost-effective but also a strategically important solution for the sustainable development of remote industrial territories while strengthening Russia's leadership position in high-tech engineering and opening up prospects for the export of these solutions.
