Annotation:

The authors of the article analyze Tanzania's traditional approach to ensuring national energy security by using internal capabilities and potential, which the political elite of many Western countries calls "resource nationalism." The growing role of natural gas as a factor of ensuring energy security and accelerating the social-economic development of the country was emphasized. The reasons for the growing interest of foreign countries in the energy resources of Tanzania are shown. The forms and methods by which Western countries are trying to secure advantageous positions in the Tanzanian energy sector are described.
