Annotation:
The article describes the operation features of the oil and petroleum products loading terminal as a 3-segment system: «Oil-trunk pipeline-tank battery-liquid bulk terminal». The factors influencing the storage tank capacity are considered. Special focus is given to the question of imperfection of modern native methods of evaluating storage tank capacity of crude oil loading terminal and the need of taking into account the characteristics of all the three key segments of the system: oil-trunk pipeline, tank battery and industrial pipe-lines with moorings. Besides that the article gives recommendations on improving technological surety of the loading terminal exploitation.
