STUDY OF CLAY CAP SEAL IN THE PROCESS OF OIL AND GAS FIELD DEVELOPMENT

Annotation:
According to the results of repeated studies by neutron methods the seal effect of the clay cap overlying the deposits developed in the depletion mode under reduced reservoir pressure was identified. A mathematical model of water filtration and clay sealing that calculates the change in pore pressure in the cap and reduction of clay porosity was developed. The amount of water forced out of the clay cap into the formation for a single production well operating under a long-time drawdown is evaluated.
