ACTIVATION OF METHANE IN TRIFLUOROACETIC ACID

Annotation:

Activation of methane for its chemical use is an urgent task. The transformation of methane occurs with the formation of a gummy product in anhydrous trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) at room temperature and atmospheric pressure. Spiking ions with masses of 684 and 700 are observed in MALDI-TOF spectra of the dry residue of the transformation products of methane.
