Annotation:
The study of problems of implementation of strategies of technological development of vertically integrated oil companies (VIOC) revealed lack of methodological support of the organization of management of R&D as well as engineering activities. This may cause serious errors in the development of strategic plans for sustainable development of companies. The paper offers methodical approach to prepare solutions of reorganization of the R&D complex and and transform it into an engineering unit of a VIOC.
