ANTIOXIDANT ADDITIVES TO IMPROVE THERMAL OXIDATIVE STABILITY OF PROTECTIVE LIQUIDS FOR HOT WATER STORAGE TANKS OF ENERGY PROVIDERS

Annotation:
This paper considers the possibility of improving thermal oxidative stability of protective liquids for hot water storage tanks of energy providers by application of anti-oxidant additives. The influence of antioxidant additives on thermo-oxidative stability was evaluated using Folder P device at 140 °C for 6 h by measuring the relative change in dynamic viscosity (at temperatures of 80 and 90 °C). It was found that alkilaminodifenilamin (6PPD) and pentagidroksiflavanon (DHA), reduce the speed of oxidative degradation of PIB in the composition of protective liquid. 0,5 % by weight of these compounds reduce the degree of destruction of the PIB by 68-69 %. A synergetic composition was developed including an antioxidant additive and amine-type alkyl phenol (0,3 % wt. Agidol-1 and 0,2 % by weight. MDS-5), which can increase the thermal oxidative stability of the protective liquid on petroleum basis more than 1,5 times, while maintaining its high antiaerational and anticorrosive properties.
