Annotation:
The proposed by a number of experts and specialists approaches to achieve carbon neutrality are largely politicized and aimed at discrediting and weakening the enterprises of the fuel and energy complex of Russia. In this regard, peremptory statements about the causes of climate change and accusations of Russia’s significant contribution to this process are groundless. The article is a continuation of a number of publications by the authors on the carbon neutrality of Russia. Based on the analysis of energy development in the world and the G20 countries, the article convincingly shows that Russia's energy sector is one of the cleanest on the planet, and natural gas remains the type of organic fuel, the development of production, transportation systems and industrial applications of which will be able to ensure sustainable energy development, its environmental cleanliness and the achievement of carbon neutrality goals.
