Annotation:

About a third of oil reserves in Russia are represented by so-called hard-to-recover reserves (low-permeability deposits, large depth of deposits, ultra-viscous oil etc.). Their extraction requires significantly higher costs compared to those of “traditional” hydrocarbons, the creation of completely new production technologies or unconventional approaches to the design of the development of facilities with hard-to-recover reserves. The efficiency of the known methods of oil extraction provides a final oil recovery coefficient in the range of 0,25–0,45, residual reserves represent a large reserve for increasing recoverable resources using methods of increasing oil recovery and competent placement of the grid of wells. But, as a rule, the extraction of hard-to-recover reserves is economically unprofitable. This article provides a detailed approach to finding a compromise solution when designing an object with hard-to-recover reserves on the example of the Tyumen riverbed deposits of one of the fields of Western Siberia.
