Influence of Dioktylterephthalate complex ester on performance characterisitics of motor oils

Annotation:

At the moment, the use of esters in the production of motor oils is becoming more relevant, given the existence of new production facilities in Russia. The object of this study became the complex ether Dioktilterftalat (DOTF), produced at the Perm site of the OOO “SIBUR” – the complex ether of the new generation. Shell Mysella S5 S40 commercial oil was also selected as part of the study. The Shell Mysella line of oils for gas engines was designed to achieve an optimal cost-performance ratio. As part of the study, two formulations of motor oils based on Dioktilterephthalate ester were developed. The first formulation was developed as a replacement for an imported analogue, and it showed better performance. The second formulation was developed as an additive in motor oils, passed industrial trials and proved that its introduction increases the life of motor oils.
