A promising approach to assessing impact of variable gas consumption on operating modes of gas transmission systems

Annotation:

The article is devoted to the assessment of the influence of time-variable gas consumption on the operational and technological parameters of gas transmission systems. It is shown that the unevenness of gas consumption is an objective factor in the operation of gas transmission systems. The need to ensure variable gas consumption time requires the implementation of various measures, among which one can single out the construction of additional gas storage facilities (underground storage facilities, gas tanks), the use of the storage capacity of gas transmission systems themselves, as well as changing the operating and technological parameters of gas pipelines. It is proved that the existing approaches to the assessment and forecasting of uneven gas consumption cannot be applied to determine the degree of its impact on the technical condition, reliability and efficiency of gas transmission systems. An approach is proposed to assess the impact of uneven gas consumption on the operation of gas transmission systems, the necessity of conducting a complex of scientific studies for comprehensive assessment of this influence, which in the near future will optimize the costs of gas transportation through gas transmission systems.
