Annotation:

In the southeastern part of the Russian Platform, some researchers have noted a connection between hydrocarbon accumulations and radial-concentric structures. The Samara Radial-Concentric Structure (RCS), with the diameter of about 450 km, was identified from magnetic anomaly maps in 2023. It is hypothesized that, like other RCS of the Russian Platform, outlined by seismotectonic and geomorphological data, it serves as a center for hydrocarbon accumulation and is a result of contemporary geodynamic processes in the Earth's crust, although no significant hydrocarbon accumulations have been found within its boundaries so far. A revised interpretation of regional seismic profiles intersecting the structure in its central and eastern parts reveals a dendritic hierarchical structure of tectonic disruptions. The Samara RCS likely represents a large flower-like structure, within which smaller flower-like structures are nested. Most of the modern seismic activity in the Samara region is recorded in the center of the Samara RCS – in the area of distribution of deep thermal anomalies, which may trigger hydrothermal processes in vertically oriented zones of the branched network of dendritic tectonic disruptions and contribute to the replenishment of hydrocarbon deposits with new fluid portions. Additionally, a significant portion of the Volga-Ural petroleum province's deposits, where accumulated production has exceeded geological initial reserves, is located around the center of the Samara RCS. All this points to the high contemporary geodynamic activity of the structure and suggests that it may be the newest promising center for hydrocarbon accumulation.
