Annotation:
The article analyzes several strategies for managing geoenvironmental risks associated with the development and exploitation of hydrocarbon deposits located in the Paleozoic sedimentary complex in the Arctic region. For this purpose, an area of promising oil and gas bearing zones of the Russian Arctic shelf was identified and anthropogenic risks for industrial and economic activities in the Arctic were assessed, making it possible to identify optimal methods for using the Arctic territories in order to reduce the negative anthropogenic impact of the oil and gas industry on vulnerable biogeocenoses. The conducted research allowed to determine the need to implement a comprehensive approach, consisting of technological, engineering, and environmental solutions to manage geoecological risks. The combination of the best available technologies existing at the moment and the greening of production will make it possible to ensure the safety of geoecosystems, while not hindering, but even contributing to the development of the Russian Arctic. The balance between the national economic interests and the preservation of fragile natural-territorial complexes of the Russian North will allow to expand and improve the industrial sector, without causing irreversible harm to the environment.
