Annotation:
The data of the structure of electricity production in the world, the balance of electricity generation from various sources of fuel and energy in the leading countries of economic development are presented. The analysis of the gross domestic product (GDP) growth rate calculated according to the parity of purchasing power and electricity generation dependence is carried out for the countries that have leading positions in terms of economic volume. The unambiguous dependence of the pace of economic development on the growth rate of electricity generation is shown. The main factors of the electricity generation influence on the GDP formation are formulated. The necessity of rethinking a number of provisions that hinder the achievement of sustainable development goals is shown.
