Revisiting the issue of estimating global national hydrocarbon reserves

Annotation:

Issues related to the prospects for the development of global energy, ensuring growing energy consumption in conditions of limited renewable energy opportunities and the depletion of hydrocarbon reserves, which continue to dominate energy production, are widely discussed among experts, scientists and specialists. Based on the actual data presented in the article on the production (extraction) of hydrocarbons, their consumption and proven reserves analyzed by region, the need to develop a long-term strategy for their exploration and production, energy conservation, and increasing the share of unconventional hydrocarbon sources is shown. For Russia, taking into account its competitive advantages in the energy sector noted in the article, this will ensure sustainable development of the economy.
